During our stay at Hermes Cabins, we explored some of the best things to do in Broken Bow, including hiking near Broken Bow Lake, enjoying local restaurants and spending time relaxing at the cabin. If you’re planning a trip to southeastern Oklahoma, here’s a look at the perfect Broken Bow weekend itinerary.

Friday on our Weekend Getaway: Hiking Near Broken Bow Lake & Pizza at Grateful Head

We started our weekend getaway in Broken Bow with a hike along the Lakeview Lodge Trail, a peaceful trail surrounded by towering pine trees and scenic lake views. Hiking is one of the most popular things to do in Broken Bow, and this trail was the perfect way to start the weekend.

After spending the afternoon outdoors, we checked into Hermes Cabins and settled in for a relaxing weekend in Hochatown.

For dinner, we headed to Grateful Head Pizza Oven & Tap Room, one of the most popular restaurants in Broken Bow. Known for its unique pizzas, laid-back atmosphere and live music vibe, it’s a must-visit spot during any Broken Bow cabin trip.

Back at the cabin, we relaxed for the evening and enjoyed the peaceful setting before another full day of exploring.

Saturday: Cozy Cabin Morning, Hiking & Local Favorites

One of the best parts of staying at Hermes Cabins is slowing down and enjoying the cabin experience. We spent the morning making pancakes in the fully stocked kitchen, relaxing in the hot tub and playing games at the cabin before heading back outdoors.

Next, we explored the Friends Trail, another scenic Broken Bow hiking trail with beautiful forest views and plenty of spots to stop and take in nature. We also visited a scenic overlook near Broken Bow Lake to enjoy panoramic views of the water and surrounding mountains.

After hiking, we stopped at Beavers Bend Brewery to enjoy local craft beer and relax after a busy morning outdoors.

We also visited Choctaw Landing, one of Hochatown’s newest attractions, for entertainment and gaming before dinner.

That evening, we headed to The Blue Rooster, a Broken Bow favorite known for comfort food, live music and a fun atmosphere. The fried okra was a standout, and the chicken fried specialties definitely lived up to the hype.

We ended the night back at the cabin with a movie, pool games and another relaxing evening in the hot tub.

Sunday: Kayaking in Broken Bow Before Heading Home

Before heading home, we made time for one final Broken Bow adventure: kayaking with Beavers Bend River Floats.

Kayaking the river was the perfect way to end the trip and experience even more of Broken Bow’s natural beauty. Whether you’re interested in hiking, kayaking, breweries or relaxing cabin weekends, Broken Bow has something for everyone.
